Job Description
  • Manages compliance of the company and its clients on all tax and accounting standards by verifying the accuracy of payments and tax returns.
  • Monitors, reviews, and analyzes tax planning opportunities and strategies, tax risks, and other tax issues.
  • Assists in complying with annual audit requirements, filing with the corresponding government agencies, and coordinating with external auditors of both the company and the clients.
  • Guide the Finance and Accounting Team in improving existing procedures and systems that will ensure high-quality customer service.
  • Prepares Financial, Accounting, and Audit reports as may be required.
  • Verifies the accuracy of computerized and manual accounting, as well as record-keeping systems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completed a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy.
  • Certified Public Accountant is an advantage.
  • At least 3-5 years of work experience in an Audit/Accounting firm or similar industries.
  • Experience or knowledge in PEZA registration is preferred but not required.
  • Has comprehensive knowledge and exposure to taxation, general accounting, and audit practices, principles, and procedures.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Tax Compliance Officer ensures that all client tax obligations and business registration requirements are met accurately and on time. This role leads client onboarding for tax and BRU (Business Registration & Updates) services, prepares and files tax returns, and coordinates with government agencies to maintain full compliance. The Tax Compliance Officer also supports the team in risk management, documentation, and process improvements, serving as a reliable partner to clients.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Client Onboarding for TCA Services – Lead the onboarding process for new tax compliance and advisory clients, ensuring accurate setup of client profiles, schedules, and requirements.
  • Tax Filings and Compliance – Prepare and file all required tax returns (monthly, quarterly, and annual) accurately and on time.
  • Business Registration & Updates (BRU) Services – Lead the preparation, submission, and follow-up of business registration, permit renewals, and updates with relevant government agencies (e.g., BIR, SEC, LGU).
  • Compliance & Risk Management – Ensure that all tax processes comply with BIR and other regulatory requirements; proactively flag potential issues or risks.
  • Client Communication Support – Maintain clear communication with clients regarding schedules, requirements, and status of filings, in coordination with the Relationship Manager.
  • Documentation & Reporting – Maintain organized and updated client records, working papers, and tax schedules; submit reports to the Tax Manager as required.
  • Process Improvement – Recommend and implement improvements in tax workflows, documentation, and efficiency.
  • Team Support – Provide guidance to Tax Specialists and collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth and timely service delivery.
  • Adhoc Tasks – Other projects and tasks may be assigned from time to time, as needed by the company.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or related field.
  • Experience: At least 2–3 years of experience in accounting and/or tax compliance and filing.
  • Skills: Knowledge of Philippine tax laws and compliance regulations; familiarity with government e-filing systems (eBIRForms, eFPS, SEC systems, LGU portals); excellent attention to detail and organizational skills; strong written and verbal communication skills for client coordination.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Hybrid Schedule :

Primarily 3 days onsite per week (including Mondays), with flexibility to work remotely on other days. S/he may be required to report onsite on additional critical days as determined by the direct manager (e.g., project meetings, client visits, or other business needs).
