GIS Application Programmer

The GIS Application Programmer will support the GIS Operations Team and other departments in scoping, designing, programming and deploying Web-GIS applications for staff and DMCs that build on and integrate seamlessly with Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) / Enterprise GIS. Under the supervision of the Senior GIS Specialist, liaise with departments and staff, to identify their needs for customized Web-GIS applications, Familiarize with the Spatial Data Infrastructure, both in ITD as well as map-enabled business apps like CDIH, CCDRMS, MATALAS, etc., In collaboration with the GIS Server Manager and Administrator, identify the technical and security requirements for developing Web-GIS applications or plugins, Support consultant teams hired by individual projects to develop standards and security-conform applications that integrate seamlessly with the SDI / Enterprise GIS, Ensure proper hand-over / migration of Web-GIS Apps developed by consultant teams under departments and projects not under ITD, and (co)-maintain the Apps on a regular basis once launched, in close coordination with the App owners, Program new Web-GIS applications as per user demand, incl. user review, development of wireframes, work and budget planning for development and maintenance phases, perform UI/UX and security testing, etc. Deploy applications and perform regular maintenance (bug fixing, backup, software/code updates/upgrades), Any other task ITD GIS considers necessary. Deliverables and Dates Scoping Report: Document detailing staff and needs in Web-GIS applications to support project / investment planning, implementation and monitoring. Web-GIS Applications: as discussed with GIS Operation Teams manager and consultants, and other teams developing map-enabled apps. University degree in computer science / IT or related field, At least 10 years’ experience in developing and successfully deploying map-enabled / WebGIS client applications, Technical skills: HTML & CSS, JavaScript/Angular JS, Leaflet, Python, R, C#, SQL/NonSQL Database, REST API, WebArchitecture, NPM, Information Security & Privacy Working knowledge of the IT environment / technology, and related security regulations and guidelines, Fluent written and spoken English, Strong verbal and written communication skills. #J-18808-Ljbffr
