Join to apply for the GIS Application Programmer role at Panoptik Global Job Overview The GIS Application Programmer will support the GIS Operations Team and other departments in scoping, designing, programming, and deploying Web‑GIS applications that build on and integrate seamlessly with the Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) / Enterprise GIS. Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Senior GIS Specialist, liaise with departments and staff to identify their needs for customized Web‑GIS applications. Familiarize with the Spatial Data Infrastructure and map‑enabled business applications such as CDIH, CCDRMS, MATALAS, etc. Collaborate with the GIS Server Manager and Administrator to identify technical and security requirements for developing Web‑GIS applications or plugins. Support consultant teams hired by individual projects to develop standards‑conforming applications that integrate seamlessly with the SDI / Enterprise GIS. Ensure proper hand‑over / migration of Web‑GIS applications developed by consultant teams and (co)‑maintain the applications on a regular basis in close coordination with the app owners. Program new Web‑GIS applications as per user demand; include user review, development of wireframes, work and budget planning, and perform UI/UX and security testing. Deploy applications and perform regular maintenance (bug fixing, backup, software/code updates/upgrades). Carry out any other tasks deemed necessary by ITD GIS. Deliverables Scoping Report: Document detailing staff and needs in Web‑GIS applications to support project/investment planning, implementation and monitoring. Web‑GIS Applications: as discussed with GIS Operation Teams manager and consultants. Qualifications University degree in computer science, IT or related field. At least 10 years of experience developing and successfully deploying map‑enabled/WebGIS client applications. Technical skills: HTML & CSS, JavaScript/AngularJS, Leaflet, Python, R, C#, SQL/NoSQL Database, REST API, Web Architecture, NPM, Information Security & Privacy. Working knowledge of the IT environment / technology and related security regulations and guidelines. Fluent written and spoken English. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
