At OpsWerks, we're seeking a Sr. Fintech App Support Engineer to join our team.

About the job:
  • Develop operational strategies and serve as a subject matter expert on microservices and distributed systems for fintech applications.
  • Lead and coordinate incident response efforts, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing impact on operations.
  • Proactively diagnose and resolve issues using log analysis, and prevent recurring problems.
  • Continuously improve processes by identifying inefficiencies and applying solutions to enhance service reliability.
  • Create and maintain documentation of known issues, workarounds, and resolutions.
  • Conduct knowledge sharing sessions and workshops within the team.
  • Participate in a 24x7 shift rotation.
About you:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Engineering.
  • Proven experience supporting critical production services and enhancing operations through automation and process improvements.
  • Strong understanding of SRE principles: observability, SLOs, and eliminating toil.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in:
    • Supporting critical production services, including incident response.
    • Working with large-scale distributed systems as an SRE or DevOps engineer.
    • Logging and monitoring tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, etc.
    • Incident management tools like PagerDuty, ServiceNow.
    • Version control with Git.

Plus points include:

  • Experience in e-commerce, payments, or financial services operations.
  • Container orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Shell.
  • Relevant certifications.
  • Familiarity with SQL troubleshooting.
