JOB SUMMARY The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of books and other printed materials. The role demands a keen understanding of supply chain management, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a team effectively in a fast-paced environment with deadlines tied to publishing schedules. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred. 3+ years of experience in warehouse management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Experience in the publishing or book distribution industry is strongly preferred. Familiarity with inventory management systems, logistics, and warehouse best practices. Working knowledge of publishing cycles and the importance of aligning warehouse operations with production and editorial schedules. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Good communication skills to liaise with different departments and external vendors. Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations in warehousing. High attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. JOB DESCRIPTION Manage and coordinate the daily operations of the warehouse, including inbound and outbound logistics of books, and other print materials. Ensure inventory accuracy by conducting regular cycle counts, spot checks, and reconciliations with inventory management systems. Maintain safe and efficient handling and storage of all published materials. Lead, coach, and motivate warehouse staff to meet daily operational goals. Schedule shifts and assign tasks to warehouse employees to ensure smooth workflow. Train new staff on warehouse procedures, safety protocols, and handling of publishing materials. Monitor stock levels of books and related materials, working closely with the inventory team to manage supply levels and avoid overstocking or shortages. Assist in managing returns, damages, and distribution of surplus or remaindered stock. Collaborate with the sales and production teams to ensure timely fulfillment of orders and address any issues related to stock availability or delays in shipments. Work closely with the content and production team to align warehouse operations with the release schedules of promotional events. Oversee the packaging and shipment of books, ensuring that orders are processed on time and delivered according to client requirements. Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, including stock management and picking/packing workflows. Enforce adherence to safety regulations and protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff. Implement lean warehousing techniques to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
