Financial Accountant

Overview Verdant Energy is a leading renewable energy company focused on delivering sustainable energy solutions across the region. As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our Singapore team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting the company’s financial health. Key Responsibilities Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings, including journal entries and reconciliations. Prepare financial statements in compliance with local GAAP and IFRS. Oversee the maintenance of general ledger accounts and trial balances. Manage intercompany transactions and ensure proper eliminations for consolidated financial reporting. Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including GST filings, corporate tax reporting, and statutory submissions. Liaise with external auditors during annual audits and ensure timely completion. Prepare regulatory reports required by authorities, ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards. Budgeting & Forecasting Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts. Monitor budgetary performance and highlight variances to management. Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making. Cash Management Manage day-to-day cash flow and banking operations, ensuring optimal cash utilization. Support the Senior Finance Manager in treasury functions, including foreign exchange management and bank reconciliations. Process Improvement Review and enhance accounting processes, ensuring efficient workflows and internal controls. Implement automation tools to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency. Stakeholder Collaboration Work closely with internal teams, including project development and operational departments, to provide financial insights. Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requirements from senior management. Qualifications & Skills Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CA, CPA, or ACCA qualification is highly preferred. Experience: Minimum 2-5 years of experience in financial accounting or auditing, preferably within the renewable energy, infrastructure, or related industries. Experience with group reporting and consolidations is a plus. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of IFRS and Singapore Financial Reporting Standards. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with tax compliance, transfer pricing, and GST regulations in Singapore. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
