Overview Senior Platform Reliability Engineer role at Manulife, Quezon City, Philippines. The team provides consulting and education on observability reliability practices, creates new tools and surfaces operational data to improve system reliability and customer experience. This position is part of the transformation to a data-driven organization. Responsibilities Collaborating with other teams to provide application monitoring strategy. Building and setting up monitoring (Synthetics, APM, Infrastructure) within our Monitoring Platform. Designing and building new application monitors, dashboards, and creative solutions. Creating automation solutions using scripting languages and APIs. Using problem solving skills with tooling to uncover application issues and perform root cause analysis. Creating visibility of data and helping partners understand this data. Designing, supporting and enhancing current toolset. Promoting observability and reliability engineering within the team and beyond. Handling communications with business allies to ensure information is comprehensive to technical and non-technical members. Maintaining positive relationships with internal teams. Adapting to evolving priorities. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in any IT-related course 8 to 10 years+ in a senior technical IT role Experience designing, building, and maintaining monitoring technology platforms Coding experience with PowerShell, NodeJS or JavaScript Scripting experience with languages such as PowerShell or Python Experience with monitoring tools: New Relic, Dynatrace, CA APM, PRTG Amenable to work at UP Ayala Technohub (Quezon City) Amenable to work in a hybrid setup (3x a week onsite) Amenable to work in day and night shift schedules Preferred Qualifications Data-driven and focused on using data to improve effectiveness and customer experiences Ability to work independently with a continuous learning mindset Focus on creating excellent customer experiences Innovation, adaptability and curiosity Clear, concise, tactful communication Vendor management skills Ability to adapt to change and overcome barriers Knowledge of Terraform, Jenkins, GIT, automation tools Devo, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes Experience mentoring with leadership skills Familiarity with AI Operations tooling (e.g., Moogsoft, Copilot, AgenticAI) Understanding of Observability and Reliability Engineering Understanding of Financial Services or Insurance Industry and/or Large Enterprise knowledge ITIL Foundations or Practitioner certifications Working Arrangement Hybrid About Manulife Manulife Financial Corporation is a leading international financial services provider.
