Overview: Apex Investment Administration New Zealand is seeking a Senior Report Writer to join its Cloud Data Platform (CDP) team. This role is central to supporting over $140 billion in assets by developing, maintaining, and modernizing data pipelines and reporting solutions. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring accurate, secure, and timely data delivery to investment and wealth management clients. Key Responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain robust reports and dashboards using SQL, Power BI, and SSRS. Develop and manage domain models for financial data and ensure reliable data integration into the CDP. Uphold data security and accuracy through automated testing, peer reviews, and documentation. Mentor team members and promote best practices in data engineering and reporting. Collaborate with stakeholders and central data teams to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with business goals. Manage multiple projects, provide accurate estimations, and respond to changing priorities. Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to team planning and delivery improvement. Required Skills & Experience: Advanced SQL skills and strong analytical/problem-solving capabilities. Proven experience in report and dashboard development using SSRS and Power BI. Familiarity with CI/CD practices and version control (Git). Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Desirable Skills: Experience with the Azure ecosystem (DevOps, Data Factory). Knowledge of data modelling, ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Fivetran), and data platforms like Snowflake and dbt. Understanding of data governance, security controls (RBAC, data masking), and financial industry practices.
