Overview
Tax Specialist position based in Makati/Taguig area. The role is responsible for managing and analyzing the company\'s tax obligations, ensuring compliance with local and national tax laws, preparing tax returns, conducting tax research, and supporting tax planning and tax compliance activities. The role may involve collaboration with finance, legal, and other departments to ensure accurate tax reporting and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns and related documents in a timely manner.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of tax returns (income, sales, property, VAT, withholding, etc.).
- Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations to maintain ongoing compliance.
- Prepare detailed tax reports and schedules for management review and regulatory submissions.
- Coordinate with auditors and internal teams to provide required documentation for tax audits and investigations.
- Analyze and advise on the tax implications of business transactions and corporate structures.
- Assist in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
- Maintain organized documentation of tax filings, correspondence, and supporting schedules.
- Assist with internal and external tax audits, respond to inquiries, and address audit findings.
- Support compliance initiatives and process improvements to streamline tax reporting and reduce risk.
- Collaborate with finance, legal, and other departments to ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance.
- Provide guidance on local tax implications of operations, contracts, and incentives where applicable.
- Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in tax accounting, tax compliance, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Proficiency in tax software and accounting systems; SAP FICO experience is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities; ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
- Willingness to work on-site initially (as required) with potential for hybrid arrangements.
