JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage financial operations and ensure compliance with Australian accounting and taxation standards. WHAT YOU’LL DO Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. Ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant standards. Management Reporting Prepare and deliver detailed management reports through Fathom . Provide analysis of financial performance, variance reporting, and insights to support strategic decision-making. Payroll Management Oversee end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring compliance with Australian employment legislation, modern awards, and company policies. BAS/IAS Preparation & Lodgement Prepare and review Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) . Ensure accurate and timely compliance with ATO requirements including GST, PAYG, and related obligations. Superannuation Compliance Reconcile superannuation contributions monthly and quarterly. Ensure accurate and timely payments to relevant funds. Process Improvement & Advisory Proactively identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve reporting efficiencies. Provide recommendations to management on internal controls and compliance. Support with audits, budgeting, forecasting, and other compliance or financial initiatives as required. REQUIREMENTS Minimum 2 years of proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles within the Australian market. Strong knowledge of Australian taxation, BAS/IAS, GST, PAYG, and superannuation requirements . Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) and advanced reporting skills, ideally with Fathom . Solid understanding of payroll processing and employment legislation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. Effective communication, time management, and proactive work ethic . Relevant qualifications in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Finance (Cert IV or higher preferred).
