Responsibilities Manage and oversee external structural engineering consultants throughout the design process, from feasibility to the completion of for permit documents. Conduct thorough reviews of structural analysis, calculations, and drawings prepared by consultants to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with the National Structural Code of the Philippines (NSCP). Collaborate with architectural and MEPF teams to ensure the structural design is fully coordinated with other disciplines, resolving potential conflicts early. Drive value engineering for the structural system, reviewing consultant proposals and providing input to optimize material use and constructability. Ensure all structural documentation prepared by consultants is complete and accurate for building permit applications. Provide technical oversight and design clarifications to the Operations team during their preparation of “For Construction” drawings. Conduct periodic site visits during the construction phase to ensure design intent is being followed and to provide clarifications to the Operations and Construction teams. Special Projects Special Projects: For strategic initiatives or special projects as assigned, may be required to directly perform in-house structural analysis, design, and drawing production, rather than solely reviewing consultant work. Qualifications Education Background: BS Civil Engineering. Professional License: Must be a licensed and registered Civil Engineer (CE). Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in structural design, with proven experience in reviewing consultant work for vertical construction projects. Knowledge: Proficient in interpreting results from structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAFE, STAAD); In-depth knowledge of the National Structural Code of the Philippines (NSCP); Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Skills and Training Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in structural analysis software (ETABS, SAFE), deep understanding of seismic design principles as per the NSCP, and expertise in value engineering for structural systems. Software Proficiency: Expert in reviewing drawings via Autodesk AutoCAD and interpreting models in Revit Structure. Training: Ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in structural engineering, materials science, and updated building codes. Behavioral Competencies Analytical Thinking & Problem-Solving: Meticulous and systematic approach to reviewing complex calculations and identifying potential design flaws or inefficiencies. Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy in reviewing drawings, specifications, and reports to ensure quality and prevent errors. Collaboration & Communication: Ability to clearly communicate complex structural concepts to non-engineers and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
