Revenue and Technical Accountant

Being a Revenue and Technical Accountant , you will be assigned to the Revenue Operations Team within the Finance & Accounting Department. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, highly motivated, eager to learn, and possesses strong communication and teamwork skills. This role focuses on managing and optimizing revenue processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. A solid understanding of revenue recognition principles and cross-functional collaboration is essential. If you’re ready to be part of an amazing company with world-class talent and values, Atlassian could be your next home Responsibilities Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 and other relevant accounting standards. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue reports and forecasts, and participate in worldwide revenue accounting close activities. Analyze revenue trends and variances, providing insights and recommendations to management. Assist in the analysis of historical sales activities for proper revenue allocation in multiple-element arrangements. Assist in the preparation of management reports and presentations. Resolve billing discrepancies and partner with the accounts receivable team to streamline processes. Identify opportunities for process improvements in revenue operations and implement best practices. Support external and internal audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to revenue processes. Utilize and optimize financial systems and software tools to support revenue accounting functions. Assist in the implementation and integration of new systems related to revenue operations. Assist in other miscellaneous projects as needed to support the revenue operations team (including UAT and cross-functional projects). Partner and collaborate with other teams regarding revenue-related inquiries and issues. Qualifications 2-3+ years of progressive experience in the accounting industry, with multinational, audit firm, and/or BPO/shared services exposure (preferably in a public company environment subject to SOX). Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Strong knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards. Proficiency in Excel. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines while managing multiple tasks. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to identify and drive process improvements; proactive, organized, and able to work independently. Strong relationship-building skills and ability to interact with stakeholders across the organization. Highly valued (but not required): Revenue accounting experience. Experience with Oracle and/or RevPro. CPA certification.
