Bid and Business Controller

Position Summary Thales is looking for an experienced Bid and Project Controller to act as a Finance Business Partner. His or her main objectives will be to support the Finance, Project Management and Executive Teams in a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, project monitoring, project cash forecast and cash collection, completing periodic reports and general project tasks as identified by Thales Leadership. Key Areas of Responsibility Prepare project financial baselines with Project Managers and Bid Managers - Initial budget, validate changes and maintain updated business plans over the life of each project with appropriate tracking of assumptions and related variances analysis, risks and opportunities. Understand Project technical scope to be able to participate actively to project reviews: planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting on projects of various contract types, sizes, complexities. Build scenario analysis to explain the financial impacts whenever requested. Highlight/manage project risks and opportunities in conjunction with Project Managers. Responsible for all monthly forecasting and multi-year budgets (MYB) to include revenue and gross margin for all projects in his/her project portfolio. Ensure all costs against projects and departments are properly recorded, reconciled and analyzed. Coordinate with Project Management, Finance, Accounts Receivable to ensure that all the components of revenue are accounted for in accordance with the contractual terms: billing and credit. Accountable for ensuring all project financials are consistent with all internal policies & procedures. Support internal and external auditors' reviews and ensures that full documentation and account reconciliations, including but not limited to, program estimates at completion, are provided in a timely manner. Minimum Requirements Master’s degree with 3-5+ years of relevant accounting or finance related experience. Financial analysis experience, budgeting, forecasting, and planning is required. Prior experience managing budgets, conducting in-depth financial analysis, creating and driving recommendations. Prior experience with principles of revenue, cost recognition and deferred revenue, EAC and ETC, and OCF. Financial Systems experience (i.e. SAP, Oracle preferred). Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office), including advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge. Ability to handle multiple projects and interface with different cultures (international profile), team spirit. Ability to work in autonomy and provide sound financial advice to Project Management and to the Country CFO. Excellent judgment, planning and organizational skills. Ensure analysis to detect any discrepancies, alert and propose action plan in order to secure the reliability/profitability of the P&L of the BL. Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts for the Country, and projections to effectively manage project cash balances. Why Join Us?
