Overview

Payroll Specialist is a crucial member of the Human Resources team responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll in compliance with Philippine labor laws and company policies. The role involves managing payroll data, calculating wages and deductions, ensuring accurate reporting, and addressing employee payroll inquiries. The candidate should be detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and knowledge of Philippine payroll regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Process end-to-end payroll processing (bi-monthly, semi-monthly, monthly) including salary, allowances, bonuses, benefits, deductions, and final pay where applicable.
  • Collect, verify, and input timekeeping data (attendance, overtime, leaves, adjustments) and ensure accuracy of payroll results.
  • Prepare and distribute payslips; process 13th month pay, annualizations, and leave conversions as required.
  • Ensure compliance with Philippine labor laws and regulations (Labor Code, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, BIR forms) and handle statutory reporting (e.g., BIR 1601C, 2316, SSS R3/R5, PhilHealth ER2, Pag-IBIG MCRF).
  • Coordinate with Finance and HR to ensure timely salary credits and resolve payroll discrepancies; respond to employee inquiries professionally and promptly.
  • Maintain and update payroll records and documentation; manage payroll system data integrity; troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with IT/vendors as needed.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports; assist with audits and annual reconciliations (including annualization and Alphalist).
  • Ensure accurate employer contributions (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG) and tax withholding; stay updated on changes in payroll regulations.
  • Support compensation and benefits administration and assist with ad-hoc payroll projects as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, Human Resource Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of payroll processing experience; experience in a fast-paced Philippines environment is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Philippine labor laws and government contributions (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG) and BIR tax regulations.
  • Proficient in MS Excel (including advanced functions, pivots) and payroll software; experience with HRIS/ERP is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information; strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • On-site availability and willingness to work in Taguig/Alabang or other stated locations as required.
