Clinical Consultant (MD)

Positions in this function are MDs and other clinical professionals who consult on various processes. The function includes roles which manage development and implementation of medical expense management initiatives. Advises leadership on improvement opportunities regarding medical expense programs and clinical activities that impact medical expense

  • Provides leadership to and is accountable for the performance of managers and/or senior level professional staff
  • Impact of work is most often at the operational or local business unit or market level
  • Owns an end-to-end process
  • Develops functional, market level, and/or site strategy, plans, production and/or organizational priorities
  • Identifies and resolves technical, operational and organizational problems outside own team
  • Product, service or process decisions are most likely to impact entire functions and/or customer accounts (internal or external)
Essential requirements
  • Ideal candidate for this role should have a minimum experience of 5 years, with clinical practice of 3 to 5 years post-residency, medical licensure is mandatory and board certification is preferred.
  • Preferably - Internist, Family Physician or Emergency Doctor
  • Clinical Experience - Must Have: Familiar with critical reviewing of medical charts is a must. In addition, the right candidate will have the ability to synthesize and present clinical information in a structured way. Strong fundamental knowledge of hospital medicine and outpatient medicine is quintessential
  • Critical Thinking and Judgement: Must Have: Willingness and ability to learn new skills form a key requirement for this role. Good to have: Any previous exposure to persuasive writing skills is preferred
