Project Development Advisor

This role focuses on solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects, with a strong understanding of National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) interconnection processes in the Philippines. What’s The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and driven Project Developer with deep expertise in solar and BESS projects, and knowledge of NGCP interconnection processes in the Philippines. This role is divided into two parts: Originate and hand over solar + BESS projects to supplement Shell Renewable Generation’s project pipeline, including development from origination, permitting, land development to financial close, ensuring technical, regulatory, and commercial success. Provide project development and delivery services for hybrid and standalone BESS. What You’ll Be Doing Project Origination & Development Identify and assess land, solar PV and BESS hybrid project opportunities. Conduct site selection, feasibility studies, energy yield assessments, and dispatch optimization. Lead permitting, licensing, and environmental compliance with NGCP, DOE, DENR, ERC, LGUs, etc. Provide business, technical advisory, and project management services to internal and external stakeholders. Lead and support project development activities including design reviews, stakeholder engagement, and hybrid project structuring. Direct experience of origination and acquiring land, ROW and permitting. Grid Interconnection & NGCP Coordination Manage NGCP interconnection applications, including impact studies, facility studies, and compliance with grid codes. Coordinate with NGCP to ensure successful integration of solar and BESS projects into the transmission network. Monitor and align projects with NGCP’s transmission expansion plans and ancillary service requirements. Act as the primary liaison with NGCP and other relevant local authorities. Stakeholder & Regulatory Engagement Build and maintain relationships with regulators, landowners, LGUs, and community stakeholders. Support applications for DOE Renewable Energy Service Contracts and corporate PPAs. Collaborate with joint venture partners, suppliers and internal teams to ensure successful project execution. Financial & Technical Coordination: Support financial modeling and ensure projects are bankable. Managing EPC partners on project execution.
