Project Developer – Solar & Battery Energy Storage Projects We are looking for a highly skilled Project Developer with deep expertise in solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects, and a strong understanding of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) interconnection processes. Responsibilities Originate and hand over solar + BESS projects to supplement Shell Renewable Generation’s project pipeline, including development from land origination, permitting, site development to financial close, ensuring technical, regulatory, and commercial success. Provide project development and delivery services for hybrid and standalone BESS. Identify and assess land, solar PV and BESS hybrid project opportunities. Conduct site selection, feasibility studies, energy yield assessments, and dispatch optimization. Lead permitting, licensing, and environmental compliance with NGCP, DOE, DENR, ERC, LGUs and other relevant authorities. Provide business, technical advisory, and project management services to internal and external stakeholders. Lead and support project development activities including design reviews, stakeholder engagement and hybrid project structuring. Manage NGCP interconnection applications, including impact studies, facility studies, and grid code compliance. Coordinate closely with NGCP to integrate projects into the transmission network and align with expansion plans. Build and maintain relationships with regulators, landowners, LGUs and community stakeholders. Support applications for DOE Renewable Energy Service Contracts and corporate PPAs. Support financial modeling and ensure projects are bankable. Manage EPC partners on project execution. Qualifications Project development and EPC execution experience. Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy or related field. Hands‑on experience sourcing and resolving land and Right of Way for solar/BESS projects. Knowledge of NGCP interconnection processes and grid code compliance. Strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation skills. Ability to work with joint venture partners and cross‑functional teams. Knowledge of hybrid system integration (solar + BESS + genset). Experience with utility‑scale renewable energy projects. Strong network in the Philippine energy sector. Fluency in English and Filipino; excellent written and verbal communication skills. Willingness to travel nationwide in the Philippines for project development and execution.
