Forney Enterprises is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer & Head of Maintenance to lead the electrical fit-out and oversee the commissioning of a new food processing facility. Once complete, this role will be responsible for ongoing electrical and maintenance of the new facility (and the old for a time). This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership and project management responsibilities , ensuring the factory build and equipment installation are delivered to the highest standard.

The successful candidate will play a key role in finalising the new factory build , supporting machine commissioning , and establishing a sustainable maintenance framework. They will also manage the electrical and maintenance teams to ensure the long-term efficiency and safety of the facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical fit-out of the new food processing facility, ensuring safe and compliant installation of all systems.
• Support and coordinate the commissioning of new machines and production lines, working closely with suppliers and contractors.
• Assist in finalising the new factory build by reviewing designs, managing contractors, and ensuring smooth handover to operations.
• Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resources across electrical and maintenance works.
• Provide technical documentation, commissioning reports, and as-built drawings.

Electrical Engineering & Maintenance

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, automation, and control panels for food processing equipment.
• Oversee utility systems including generators, HVAC, refrigeration, water, and compressed air.
• Manage critical spares management and inventory.
• Ownership of BMS management, CCTV cameras and IOT devices (Internet of Things).
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimise downtime.
• Ensure compliance with international electrical standards, food safety, and occupational health and safety requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise energy efficiency and reduce costs.
• Manage and supervise electrical and maintenance teams, including training and mentoring local technicians.
• Set and monitor team KPIs, building accountability and technical excellence.
• Lead a culture of safety, reliability, and continuous improvement across the facility.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams during project execution and transition to operational stability.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Professional Engineer license preferred).
• Additional certification in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2) or Industrial Automation (PLC/SCADA) is highly regarded.

Technical Experience

• Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in electrical engineering and industrial maintenance, ideally within the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or FMCG sectors .
• Proven expertise in factory build-outs , machine commissioning , and automation systems .
• Strong knowledge of PLC programming, SCADA systems, and industrial process control.
• Experience implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, ideally using a CMMS.
• Familiarity with international food industry standards (HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP) preferred.

Leadership & Management

• Previous experience as a Senior Electrical Engineer, Maintenance Manager, or Engineering Manager leading teams of 5–20+ staff.
• Demonstrated success in mentoring local staff and transferring technical knowledge in a cross-cultural environment.
• Strong project management capabilities, with experience delivering factory fit-out and commissioning projects on time and budget.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills — able to liaise confidently with suppliers, contractors, and senior leadership.
