Overview

Senior Business Analyst - Application Development

This role is responsible for Functional design and functional for one or more eTrace modules for all Advanced Energy sites. eTrace is the Warehouse and Shopfloor execution system for the EP factories which will be rolled out to other sites and future acquisitions if any. This role will take ownership of technical development and/or functional support of other applications, with the purpose to support manufacturing activities and fulfill business requirement.

Responsibilities
  • Development and Support for eTrace (SOX)
  • Work closely with business users and stakeholders to understand business requirements and propose technical solution to project manager
  • Plan and document functional requirements for features and system design
  • Design, build and configure new function modules in eTrace to meet business processes and application requirements
  • Collaborate with team members in design, development, coding, testing and debugging of applications
  • Provide sustaining support to eTrace with enhancement releases and data maintenance adhering to IT Change Management Processes
  • Standardization and rollout of eTrace and related applications to other sites
  • Ensure standardization of the eTrace solution across all AE factories; roll out newly developed modules to new manufacturing sites as appropriate
  • Work with project manager to perform functional and/or technical assessment of rolling out eTrace to other AP facilities
  • Prepare execution plans and go-live steps with minimal operational impact; develop contingency plans for potential exceptions
  • Coach local application support teams to become familiar with eTrace technical details and ensure timely and effective support after rollout
  • Team coaching and mentoring; guide and lead team members to accomplish objectives
  • Continuously train and develop the team in various technologies and incorporate them into development activities
  • Engage with vendors to provide timely training on new features for handheld devices, printers, EDI, and equipment interfaces
  • Provide guidance to ensure adherence to SOX and Change Management practices
Work Environment

Works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment. Works under general supervision.

Skills
  • Functional Skills: Analyzing information such as requirements, enhancements and problems (bugs and issues); teamwork; problem solving; ability to learn new technologies; ability to test web applications; follow project and team guidelines; good communication skills
  • Technical Skills: Microsoft Visual Studio; VB.Net; C#; SQL; HTML and related web technologies
  • Developmental Skills: Develop new applications/modules/functions; support existing applications; technical and user documentation
Experience

Essential: Minimum of 10 years of experience in Manufacturing (shopfloor) Execution system development/support is required.

Desirable: Experience in development and support of ERP systems (SAP, S4).

Education

Essential: Bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems major in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent education.

Desirable: Knowledge of WMS (warehouse management system), MES (manufacturing execution system) and ERP (Enterprise resource planning) systems.
