Overview

Team Leader - Medical Coder role at GodHeir Services

Location: On-site in Taguig
Work Timing: Morning shift
Salary: 65,000 - 75,000 all-in package (Depending on the experience)
Target start date: Immediately / August 29, 2025

Responsibilities
  • Handle day-to-day operations of the Coding Services of the team
  • Ensure team delivers 100% of productivity and quality per client requirement
  • Ensure excellent team utilization based on the volume/attendance/attrition
  • Identify gaps in the team by analysis and provide corrective solutions
  • Facilitate process improvements
  • Support coding team by discussing complex coding cases, answering questions, providing education and interfacing with both company and client leadership
  • Participate in client calls and relay information to team members
  • Create update tracker and update the team on trends and changes
  • Provide feedback and coaching on common error scenarios
  • Review claims denied/rejected for coding, documentation and clinical validation
  • Prepare reports for management review and identify trends
  • Conduct focused retrospective audits and regular scheduled audits of individual coders
  • Conduct regular feedback sessions and one-on-one meetings with team members
Qualifications
  • Education and Certification:
    • Must be a graduate in Life sciences (Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Nursing, Biosciences) with Anatomy/Physiology as a subject
    • Experience in E&M Specialty Coding (Outpatient, Inpatient, Observation, Critical Care) using ICD, Modifiers, CPT, HCPCS codes
    • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) from AAPC obtained before hire or transfer (all specialties accepted)
    • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) from AHIMA obtained before hire or transfer
    • Preferred RHIA/RHIT as additional certification
  • Experience: Minimum 6 years in a Coding/Auditing role (preferred in E/M inpatient and/or outpatient medical record review, coding, and reimbursement)
  • Team leadership: At least 1 year of experience in leading a team
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding; proficiency with Microsoft Windows OS and Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and communicate clearly in writing and verbally
  • Ability to generate management reports showing audit results
  • Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to regulatory changes
  • Ability to build positive relationships with internal and external teams and customers
  • Self-starter who can work independently
  • Excellent people management skills
  • On-site work in Taguig; amenable to onsite assessments
