Responsibilities Technical Leadership (40%): Own performance optimization strategies across the full WordPress stack; establish and enforce coding standards for WordPress development; make technical architecture decisions for complex WooCommerce implementations; Core Web Vitals optimization and monitoring. Team Management (30%): Direct management of 6-8 WordPress developers; conduct daily standups, sprint planning, and resource allocation; oversee code reviews and quality assurance; mentor and develop team members. Client Delivery (20%): Provide technical scoping for performance optimization projects; design solution architectures for WooCommerce customizations; troubleshoot and resolve production issues; communicate with clients on technical matters. Innovation & Process (10%): Review and improve existing development processes based on retrospectives; optimize workflows and deployment procedures; research and implement new performance techniques; maintain documentation standards and knowledge sharing; participate in technical hiring and onboarding. Qualifications Essential Technical Skills 8+ years of WordPress development experience 4+ years working specifically with WooCommerce Expert-level PHP and MySQL optimization Deep knowledge of WordPress performance optimization: database query optimization; object caching (Redis, Memcached); CDN implementation and configuration; Full Site Editing and block development; Core Web Vitals optimization Strong experience with WordPress hosting environments (we primarily use Kinsta) Proven track record of achieving sub-2-second load times on complex WooCommerce sites Leadership Requirements 2+ years managing development teams (minimum 4 developers) Experience delivering multiple concurrent client projects Strong project planning and estimation skills Excellent written and verbal English communication Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders Beneficial Skills React/JavaScript knowledge (for occasional legacy headless site support) Experience with performance monitoring tools (GTmetrix, PageSpeed Insights, WebPageTest) WooCommerce plugin development Systems integration experience (ERPs, CRMs, inventory management) DevOps and CI/CD pipeline setup What You’ll Work On Performance Optimization Projects (60%): Optimize existing WooCommerce stores for speed and conversions; implement caching strategies and CDN configurations; database optimization and query refinement; Core Web Vitals improvements Development Services (25%): Custom plugin development for client requirements; WooCommerce customizations and integrations; payment gateway implementations; third-party system integrations Maintenance & Support (15%): Oversee hosting and maintenance for 50+ sites; WordPress core, plugin, and theme updates; security monitoring and hardening; emergency support and troubleshooting What We Offer Salary: PHP 200,000-220,000 per month (based on experience) Profit sharing - participate in our quarterly profit share program 100% remote - work from anywhere in the Philippines Flexible hours - output-focused environment Growth opportunity - direct path to CTO as we scale Strategic involvement - direct access to CEO and business decisions Stable client base - recurring revenue from established clients Learning budget - for courses, tools, and certifications Hiring Process & Requirements Our hiring process moves fast.
