Overview

Technical Writer – Construction / Specification / Architecture. You will author and maintain construction specifications that reflect the latest building codes, standards, and best practice. Accuracy is essential as specifications influence real-world projects and compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Reviewing, updating, and restructuring specification content in the Chorus Authoring Platform (CAP).
  • Creating new authored specification content that reflects evolving standards, codes, technologies, and practice.
  • Ensuring customer feedback informs updates and improvements.
  • Researching technical issues and liaising with standards bodies, associations, manufacturers, consultants, and other stakeholders.
  • Aligning content to classification systems: Uniclass, CAWS, USMS, Archifyspec.
  • Supporting the development of new specification content sets in line with company strategy.
About You

This is not a software documentation role — your expertise lies in construction, architecture, and specifications.

  • Degree in a construction-related discipline (Architecture, M&E, Electrical, Landscape).
  • 5+ years’ experience in architecture, M&E, landscape, or construction specification writing.
  • Strong understanding of building regulations and industry standards.
  • Exposure to the UK market is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-focused, methodical, and rigorous.
  • Proficient with MS Office, databases, and online research tools.
  • Able to start training immediately in a hybrid, day-shift role (10 AM – 7 PM Manila time).
  • Precision and consistency — errors in specification writing have real consequences.
  • Agility — regulations change fast, and you’ll adapt quickly.
  • Engagement — working with manufacturers, standards bodies, and customers to keep content relevant.
