Job Description Responsible for conducting materials analysis and in-charge of supervision of Materials Analysis & Evaluation Laboratory. The Materials Analyst provides inspection support, technical and engineering assistance related to Quality Assurance, material evaluation/qualification and process quality improvements. Also responsible for driving FA technique development. Reporting Relationship The position reports to the Failure Analysis Laboratory Department Manager. Major Duties And Responsibilities Performs analysis of materials related to manufacturing issues Performs analysis of materials related to evaluation or qualification activities Maintains functionality of equipment in the Materials Analysis and Evaluation Laboratory Assists in critical activities of package reliability improvement projects Assists in the analysis and resolution of customer issues Documents and trains lab analysts on sample prep, and physical analysis techniques and tools Formulates/revises specifications, technical reports, and budget proposals Spearheads the FA Technique Development / standardization processes Understands theoretical and practical operation and maintenance of common F/A equipment (SEM, EDS, SAT, radiographic, optical microscopes, plasma etchers, etc.) Complies with company policies and industry standard requirements Job Specifications Education / Experience BS Degree in engineering, preferably Material Engineering / Material Science, Metallurgical or Chemical Preferred with at least 1 year experience as laboratory analyst and in manufacturing in a semiconductor company Skills Possess analytical and problem‑solving skills Hands‑on experience in EDX, DSC, AFM, FTIR, TGA, TMA & DMA Knowledge of thermal and surface analysis is an advantage About Us onsemi (Nasdaq: ON) is driving disruptive innovations to help build a better future.
