As an Inward Clearing Specialist , you will be responsible for verifying the signature and material particulars of inward clearing check images, processing Inward returned items, and processing outward clearing items. Perform other tasks/responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.

How you'll contribute

  • Perform verification of inward checks via MV CICS (First/Second Level Verification) and the integrated MV SVS. Amount limit is based on the set Verifier’s Limit/Approval Matrix in the department’s manual of operation.
  • Verifies the Drawer/Check Issuer’s Signature including specification/authorities/signature requirements of signatories as indicated in the USSCs and/or ADF/Sec Cert available in MV SVS as displayed side by side with the check image in MV CICS.
  • If there is a discrepancy (such as no card, unclear check details or on signature requirement), route (within routing cut off) or email (beyond routing cut off) the check image to concerned branch for confirmation and disposition. Other technicalities such as postdated, stale dated, no date, no signature, lacking 1 signature, unauthorized signature, alterations, signature differs, amount differs, mis-cleared etc. shall be automatically returned to other banks.
  • Perform daily random verification of check payable to INDIVIDUAL within threshold amount.
  • Perform a quarterly random confirmation for the check payable to Cash or Individual/Person amounting to below P500k.
  • Ensure to tag and log items for return in Technical Returns template located in Sharepoint and check if the returned items are included on the Technical Monitoring Sheet at the end of the day for reconciliation purposes.
  • Ensures to check the amount in the check image against the encoded amount by presenting bank (amount in red font below the check image in First/Second level verification). If the amount is not the same, type the correct amount in the Correct amount box based on what is written on the check image.

  • Possesses soft skills like communication, critical thinking, and teamwork, and hard skills such as technical knowledge, language proficiency, or specific certifications.
