Mission of the Role

The objective of this position is to deliver the ProfitCoach Experience by providing quality assurance reviews, client relationship and account management, and accurate, timely full-service accounting. This includes maintaining awareness of each client’s needs and opportunities for profit growth and stewardship.

Job Purpose

The Corporate Accounting Specialist assists in monthly financial reviews, bank feed updates, payroll recording, client communications, and periodic client accounting clean-up.

Requirements Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Processing Bank Feeds: Code transactions from each bank or credit card account according to written processes. Serve 25+ clients once trained. Responsibilities include:
  • Review and match transactions
  • Cross-check and review rules; suggest recurring transaction adjustments
  • Research suggested coding
  • Prepare questions for clients
• Bank Account Reconciliations: Assist with end-of-month reconciliation for assigned client accounts (25+). Activities include:
  • Review weekly uncleared transactions and propose solutions
  • Pull statements
  • Perform reconciliations per written process
  • Research issues and propose resolutions to Senior Corporate Accounting Specialist
• Credit Card Reconciliations: Reconcile client credit card activity.
  • Pull statements and prepare itemized lists for cardholders
  • Code charges per NARPM standards; suggest and cross-check coding
  • Create upload templates for QuickBooks
• Monthly Financial Review: Follow up with clients on unrecorded income/expenses; cross-check statements for accuracy; respond to client questions about coding decisions.
• Payroll Recording: May record payroll transactions using templates; prepare journal entries; upload to QuickBooks and/or Xero; book benefit bills; reconcile clearing accounts.
• Accounting Cleanup: Assist with cleanup in areas such as revenue coding, payroll, balance sheet accounts; maintain strong accounting practices and attention to detail.

Required Qualifications

• Background in Accounting or understanding of basic accounting principles
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
• Good written communication
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented; able to learn new concepts with written and hands-on support
• Experience in QuickBooks Online (QBO)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Xero
• Understanding of property management accounting
• Familiarity with the NARPM Standard Chart of Accounts
• Experience in AppFolio or related reports
• Payroll processing and payroll tax filing experience
• Prior experience with financial auditing or financial review
