Key Responsibilities / Focus Areas

• The Focused Improvement (FI) Engineer has responsibility for delivering improvement and savings projects identified by the Cost Deployment Pillar and/or the WCM Pillar. Apply Focused and Quality Improvement methods to address losses in Safety, Quality, Cost Deployment, Customer Service and Logistics.
• Lead implementation of all process improvements and establish Basic Condition Standards in the line. Eliminate losses and wastes to increase line stability and support semi-autonomous teams.
• Align with Cost Deployment Pillar on priority projects and/or the WCM Pillar, Run To Standard and Center Lining.
• Eliminate waste and loss using AM, PM, FI and QC pillar tools and methodologies.
• Create Technical Standards to ensure process stability on the line.
• Train line crews on technical standards and restoration of basic conditions.
• Identify and extend good practices to other lines.
• Ensure application and accuracy of MMP Code data.
• Prepare and facilitate Standard, Major and Advanced Kaizens.
• Align with People Development Pillar to form Kaizen Team and deliver trainings for members.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to identify actions based on root causes and standardize operations to sustain improvements.
• Apply different improvement toolkit, either micro (individual) or macro (systematic), to address issues.

Qualifications

• Preferably an Engineering degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or related field, or technical education with significant experience in Focused Improvement processes.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing and process safety.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Influencing skills and strong observation/auditing abilities.
