The Junior Accountant will perform both accounting and administrative tasks in accordance with the established guidelines and procedures. Essential responsibilities include the following.Other duties may be assigned.

  • General clerical duties such as data entry, filing, proofing, scanning, copying, arranging meetings and department events

  • Maintain department file records (computer and back up paper copy)

  • Prepare general ledger account reconciliations

  • Prepare journal entries per instructions

  • Prepare daily/monthly balance sheet schedules and calendar

  • Compile daily/monthly reports as requested

  • Assist in researching and investigating issues as directed

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an associate’s degree with accounting course work or commensurate accounting related work experience

  • Understanding of basic financial statements and accounting principals

  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

  • Must have good organizational skills, analytical skills, interpersonal communication skills (written and oral) and be detail oriented

  • Able to maintain sensitive and confidential information

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in team driven environment yet be able to work independently to complete daily expectations

  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced environment

  • Must be flexible, customer focused and an agent of change

  • Possess a positive attitude

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of office experience, preferably in accounting or related roles

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related Business field

  • Knowledge of Oracle Financial software

  • Credit Card Processing or Bankcard Industry experience
