We are seeking a Purchasing Manager who is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization’s procurement activities to ensure that all materials, supplies, and services are acquired at the best possible value. This role involves developing purchasing/procurement strategies, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of quality products. Key Responsibilities Strategic Procurement Planning Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals (cost reduction, quality improvement, sustainability). Analyze market trends , supplier markets, and pricing to anticipate future needs or risks. Collaborate with senior management on budgeting and long‑term sourcing plans . Supplier Selection and Relationship Management Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers based on cost, quality, reliability, and compliance . Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service‑level agreements (SLAs) with suppliers. Maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure performance, resolve disputes, and foster collaboration. Purchasing Operations Management Oversee day‑to‑day procurement activities , including purchase requisitions, orders, and inventory replenishment. Ensure timely delivery of goods and services according to specifications and budget. Approve high‑value or critical purchase orders in accordance with company policy. Optimize procurement cycle time and reduce process inefficiencies. Cost Control and Financial Analysis Analyze total cost of ownership (TCO) for major purchases. Identify cost‑saving opportunities through volume consolidation, alternative sourcing, or supplier negotiation. Monitor procurement budgets and ensure spending aligns with financial goals. Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cost savings, supplier performance, and spend analysis. Compliance and Risk Management Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and external regulations (e.g., ethical sourcing, anti‑bribery laws). Manage contract risks, supplier insolvency, and supply disruptions . Maintain documentation for audits and support corporate governance requirements. Implement ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria in supplier selection where applicable. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Work closely with departments like production, logistics, finance, and R&D to align purchasing with organizational needs. Provide procurement insights to help other teams plan effectively (e.g., demand forecasting, budgeting). Support new product development through early supplier involvement (ESI). Technology and Process Improvement Use ERP and procurement software (SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Ariba, etc.) to streamline processes. Implement e‑procurement platforms and digital approval workflows. Promote continuous improvement through process automation and data‑driven decision‑making. Team Leadership and Development Supervise and train purchasing or procurement staff. Set team goals, monitor performance, and provide mentorship. Foster a culture of ethics, accountability, and efficiency within the procurement team. Ideal Candidate 5+ years of experience in Purchasing/Procurement in luxury retail, furniture, lifestyle, or related industries. With proven track record in purchasing, sourcing, and vendor management across local and foreign markets.
