Overview
The Area Manager oversees the operations of multiple store locations within a designated area. The role is responsible for achieving sales targets, maintaining operational standards, ensuring team performance, and delivering an excellent customer experience. Acts as the link between store operations and senior management to support business growth, drive store profitability, and ensure alignment with company objectives.
Responsibilities- Sales & Business Development: monitor and analyze store sales performance; implement initiatives to achieve sales targets and profitability; identify business opportunities within the area and recommend strategies to increase market share; ensure effective implementation of marketing and promotional programs at the store level.
- Store Operations Management: conduct regular store visits to review operational standards, visual merchandising, inventory management, and policy compliance; support stores in addressing operational challenges and resolving escalated customer concerns; ensure adherence to health, safety, and security standards across all branches.
- People Management & Leadership: supervise and coach Store Managers and their teams to meet performance standards and deliver excellent customer service; identify training needs and recommend development programs; foster a positive work environment aligned with company culture and values.
- Reporting & Coordination: prepare and submit regular reports on sales, operations, manpower, and customer feedback to senior management; liaise between store operations and senior management to communicate directives and updates; collaborate with HR, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain to support smooth operations.
- Performance Improvement & Compliance: conduct branch audits, implement corrective actions, and ensure compliance with standards; manage succession planning, talent development, and a strong leadership pipeline across stores.
- Strategic Planning & Execution: participate in regional marketing strategies and promotions; support expansion plans, new store openings, and renovations; analyze market trends and competitor activity; coordinate with malls/landlords on space planning where applicable.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
- Experience: 3–5 years in retail operations or 5+ years in a managerial role, preferably multi-site or in hospitality/retail sectors.
- Strong leadership and people-management abilities; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with retail systems is an advantage.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and travel as needed to cover multiple locations.
