Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or any engineering course. Facilities management - Develop and implement long term facilities plans to incorporate the long-term business plan in a cost-effective manner. Interact with internal customers to define requirements and scope of job orders issued. Lead in the development of costs structures, job schedules, and progress monitoring for construction and renovation jobs under JDs Direct and coordinate the efforts of any third-party contractor and ensure compliance with site/company rules, including EHS protocol Equipment maintenance - Responsible to develop and implement an effective preventive maintenance plan for all equipment and machineries. Establish maintenance programs, procedures, schedules, audits and record keeping for maintenance and repair of facility related equipment. Establish maintenance programs, procedures, schedules, systems and metrics to monitor and evaluate Facilities Department performance. Business management - Initiate continuous improvement programs and activities. Ensures that the Department's and Operating Expenses are within budget/forecast. Institute cost savings and cost reduction initiatives to align department expenses with approved budgets. Review and assess special projects for equipment and maintenance Improvement with the Plant Manager. Environmental, health & safety - Accountable to maintain a clean and safe manufacturing plant in compliance with the company and government's EHS rules, procedures and regulations Responsible for continuous improvement and instilling a sense of pride and personal responsibility in the workforce for EHS performance and maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment. Equipment transfer-support production equipment facilities requirements, work closely with planning, engineering and production to sustain customer requirements. Continuous improvement-lead in the plant facilities performance improvement (uptime, defect reduction, throughput), make the equipment 'user friendly to minimize equipment breakdown, extend 'serviceable life'. Support top management priorities - support tasks as required by top management to sustain operational demands. Must have a general understanding of business processes and methods for the calculation of financial return on investment. Adept in business processes like Engineering Change Review and Orders, Temporary Deviations, Process Qualification Reviews, and other related business processes that is relevant to current II-VI manufacturing operations. Be able to perform these processes in accordance with II-VI work systems and standards. Able to interpret materials safety data sheets to create or form proper safety practices in each process. Keen to operations safety details considering health and safety of individuals as top priority in all actions. Excellent team and interpersonal skills, Strong leadership ability and potential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. A working knowledge of laser and optical fiber safety.
