The role ensures cost efficiency without compromising quality and safety standards. The QS/Estimator prepares cost estimates, bills of quantities, and project budgets, while providing technical advice and cost control throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare detailed cost estimates, budget forecasts, and bills of quantities (BOQ) for projects. Analyze project drawings, plans, and specifications to determine material, labor, and equipment requirements. Conduct site visits and collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers for accurate cost assessments. Evaluate and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost efficiency. Monitor project expenditures and prepare progress reports against approved budgets. Prepare tender documents, contracts, and cost summaries for bidding and project implementation. Assess variations, change orders, and claims, and recommend appropriate cost adjustments. Ensure compliance with local construction standards, safety regulations, and company policies. Provide cost advice and value engineering solutions to support project decision-making. Maintain proper documentation of estimates, contracts, and project cost records. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying , or related field. Licensed Civil Engineer (preferred but not always required). At least 2–5 years of relevant work experience in construction cost estimation or quantity surveying. Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and cost-estimating software (e.g., Planswift, Bluebeam, Candy, or similar). Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail. Excellent negotiation, communication, and reporting skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
