Real Estate Bookkeeper/Accountant with experience in Appfolio

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Real Estate Bookkeeper/Accountant with experience in Appfolio to join our dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of our real estate operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Appfolio Management: Proficiently utilize Appfolio to manage property accounting, including rent collection, owner distributions, and expense tracking. Ensure data accuracy and integrity within the Appfolio system. Stay updated with Appfolio's latest features and best practices.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential areas for improvement. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Accounting Operations: Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts. Process accounts payable and receivable transactions. Manage payroll and tax filings. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Property Management Support: Provide financial support to property managers, including budgeting, reporting, and expense analysis. Assist in the preparation of lease agreements and rental invoices.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement. Prepare ad-hoc reports and analyses as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Years of experience in real estate accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Proven experience with Appfolio property management software.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
