Job Summary
The Senior Accountant will support the work of the General Ledger team and supervise/review the work of Junior Accountants. The role may be assigned specific finance projects or initiatives and assist in the monthly reporting requirements of the team. To develop a holistic understanding of financial reporting and close processes, the role may be assigned to various processes within FSSC. This will involve coordination with local finance on outstanding variances and taking appropriate actions to resolve them.
Job Responsibilities- Line Management: Primary liaison with BU Finance team/CFO regards to the General Ledger and issues relating to the accounts
 - Preparation of monthly financial statements and supplementary schedules for assigned Business Units
 - Coordination of the month end activities
 - Preparation of necessary standard and recurring journal entries
 - Leading general accounting preparatory activities for month-end closing
 - Reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and preparing supporting analysis and schedules
 - Coordination of Intercompany Receivables and Payables; initial review of financial results and initiation of necessary corrective actions
 - Reconciling inventory records vis-à-vis the general ledger
 - Coordinating the monthly results with the assigned Business Unit
 - Review accounting transactions and recommend procedural and systems improvements for improved efficiency
 - Maintenance of fixed assets books, including tax books
 - Attends to regular reports that will support FSSC and BU Finance
 - Responsible for the daily bank reconciliation of the assigned BU accounts
 - Ensures that reconciling items in the bank reconciliation are monitored and followed up
 - Reconciles and checks Intercompany Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable on a monthly basis
 - Other related duties as assigned by immediate superior
 
- Ensure controls are in place to address ICSP/SOX requirements
 - Implement and support new procedures, Management of Change (MOC) and improvements whenever required
 - Support the Quality Assurance Staff in driving continuous improvement projects impacting metrics and process flow through Lean concepts, ensuring adherence to documented process control procedures
 
- Supervise Junior Accountant administratively (assign and delegate tasks/activities)
 - Determine developmental training plans for the Junior Accountant
 - Support training requirements as defined by the HR Department
 - Monitor progress of each team member
 - Provide performance evaluations to subordinates through the Performance Review system on a regular basis
 - Approve overtime, leaves/offsets and shift changes for Supervisors/Team Leaders
 - Resolve personnel conflicts
 - Coach and mentor subordinates
 - Initiate rewards and merit-based recognition for subordinates
 - Conduct interviews for new staff and provide employee orientation
 
- Strictly implement the Company’s Code of Conduct and issue Notices to Explain (NTE) with appropriate disciplinary actions as needed
 - Strictly implement all Safety Policies and Safety Measures as mandated by EH&S and participate in action plans for safety audit findings
 - Ensure team compliance with EHS training requirements
 - Ensure 5S program is carried out consistently; conduct monthly walk-throughs and audits, and report/findings
 
Must Have:
- Bachelor’s/College Degree in Accountancy
 - Preferably a Certified Public Accountant
 - At least 5 years of audit and/or financial accounting-related experience
 - Above-average computer literacy, especially in Excel; experience with an ERP system
 - Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
 - High initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision
 - Team player with ability to motivate others
 - Proven ability to work under pressure and multitask
 - Ability to work in a structured environment
 - Experience in international and culturally diverse organizations
 - Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP/Oracle or equivalent)
 - Experience in Shared Services environments or multinational organizations
