The role involves providing expert legal advice, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing risk effectively to support the organization's strategic objectives. Success is measured by the level of support / stakeholder management with the business relating to all compliance & risk identification, quality of relevant advice and assessments, effectiveness of training, comprehensive committee and Board reporting, comprehensive 2nd line controls assurance activities to meet Chubb internal and external requirements. Responsibilities Provide timely and accurate advice and proactive monitoring in relation to law and regulation affecting the organization, inclusive of monitoring changes in law and regulation and coordinating organisational responses. Conduct a regulatory gap analysis for new laws and amendments, and drive implementation of regulatory changes. Provide advice in connection with business initiatives and transactions. Prepare, review, negotiate other legal documentation including contracts and agreements such as marketing, administration, service and confidentiality agreements. Perform corporate secretarial functions inclusive of meeting preparation and corporate secretarial materials. Brief and communicate with external legal counsel. Compliance Implement and maintain the Chubb Business Compliance Framework, ensuring procedures and controls meet regulatory obligations. Conduct compliance reviews, identify risks and non-compliance and coordinate remedial actions. Ensure effective and efficient complaint handling systems and procedures are in place, monitored and consistently applied. Provide timely compliance advice aligned with local and global regulations. Establish effective communication channels for compliance policies to promote transparency and awareness. Develop reporting mechanisms for compliance findings and collaborate with business units to ensure compliance controls are adequately resourced. Oversee internal monitoring and investigations of compliance issues, including fraud, and manage necessary remediation. Deliver Legal & Compliance training programs in collaboration with regional Legal & Compliance teams, ensuring understanding of policies and procedures. Produce and issue compliance reports as required for both regular reporting and ad hoc requests. Risk Responsible for management of the ERM system for the branch and provide support in maintenance of risk registers, rollout of system changes, and provide training for effective risk management while fostering collaboration and communication with other risk owners as required. Ensure implementation and embedding of the Chubb ERM standards in country and assess compliance to the standards on an annual basis. Ensure implementation and embedding of the risk management framework. Partner with the business to educate and assist in identifying, assessing, and managing their risk profiles in supporting the achievement of their strategic objectives. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to conduct risk assessments and adjust compliance strategies based on identified risks. Provide advice on Risk issues as required.
