The Role: Data Management Specialist (S&P Dow Jones Indices)

The Operations Specialist will serve as a key player in ensuring the seamless onboarding and management of data, contributing to the overall data integrity and operational efficiency of the organization.

The Data Launch team manages the onboarding and setup of our datasets into Sprout. The team reviews all new data launch requests and coordinates with Data Owners on the Data Excellence team, IMPG, IT, R&D and requestors to ensure new data sets are set up properly to meet the needs of all users. The team is also responsible for the maintenance of existing Sprout feeds and the buildout of new workflows in Collibra. The team collaborates closely with other cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and ensure alignment with organizational objectives. This team works to provide Data Users and Owners with the raw vendor data they need. The Data Launch team is part of the Data Enablement team, which is a global team with members in New York, Beijing and Mumbai.

The Operations Specialist position has a significant impact on SPDJI by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our data sets. By understanding new data sets and requirements, the Data Launch Team enables access to data needed across various teams and drives operational efficiency. This role supports upholding data excellence and fostering a data-driven culture throughout the organization.

As an Operations Specialist, you will ensure new data sets are onboarded properly and completely. Your primary responsibilities include:

• Reviewing requests to onboard new data sets into Sprout, ensuring that all necessary information is available.
• Setting up data dictionaries and ensuring data is loaded properly and completely into Sprout.
• Coordinating with teams including Data Excellence, IMPG, IT, and R&D.
• Collaborating with team members to establish best practices and participating in cross-functional meetings to discuss data requirements.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and meticulous Operations Specialist to join our team.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or relevant field
• Strong attention to detail and self-motivated
• Proficiency in working with spreadsheets and large data sets
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Experience working with database management

• Proficiency in Python and VBA
• Snowflake
• Proven experience in data validation, data quality assurance, or similar roles
