Job Overview

If this appeals to you, then the Tribe Financial Accounting is your match. We translate our complex, primarily global Wholesale Banking, business activities into financial records in line with the latest regulatory and tax requirements. Demand can come from three angles: 1) new or changed products/business lines, 2) regulators, central banks and/or tax authorities, and 3) process optimization requests from the end user community. These demands require us to analyze impacts and design, test, and implement solutions in the processing chain.

In this role, you need a proactive mindset, strong analytical skills, and an interest in accounting, processes, IT, and banking products. You will be involved in complex end-to-end initiatives, acting as the single point of contact from Finance. Your responsibilities include analyzing processes, assessing impacts, and ensuring business and user requirements are incorporated into change releases. A strong drive to learn about the Financial Accounting domain and related tools and techniques is essential. You can develop into a domain specialist or a managerial profile.

Key Responsibilities

As a change expert, you will work in a multidisciplinary squad with business analysts, engineers, and a product owner. Together, you will work on FM & GT initiatives to onboard new portfolios and improve processing and reporting.

The squad combines deep banking business understanding with capabilities to translate business needs into accounting solutions and to implement these solutions in Finance systems. Your activities include:

• Translating business requirements into Finance user requirements;
• Acting as the single point of contact for end-to-end initiatives;
• Coordinating and facilitating activities at squad/tribe and program levels;
• Supporting the product owner and squad in backlog management by translating epics into features and user stories;
• Analyzing data and information needs, investigating data quality, and proposing improvements;
• Implementing and maintaining controls related to minimum accounting standards;
• Supporting strategic initiatives through functional, acceptance, and migration testing;
• Translating solution designs into IT solutions in collaboration with IT;
• Providing second-line functional support, including daily checks of EOD processes for timeliness and accuracy.

Key Capabilities/Experience & Minimum Qualifications

• University (Master’s) degree in (Management) Accounting & Control, Business IT, Accountancy, or (Business) Economics, with an excellent academic record;
• Over ten years of experience in the financial industry, with knowledge of Wholesale Banking product accounting concepts;
• Understanding of banking processes and financial markets products;
• Knowledge of (complex) financial products and accounting concepts;
• Familiarity with Hedge Accounting is a plus;
• Experience with FMGT FrontOffice and BackOffice systems (e.g., Murex, Summit, Sophis, Calypso) is a plus;
• Proficiency in SQL and impact analysis and functional design;
• Experience in creating test plans, test cases, and executing various types of testing;
• Ability to maintain event-based product accounting specifications and ledger processes;
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills;
• Affinity with IT, innovation, and agile working environments;
• Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written;
• Proactive, quick learner, customer-focused, results-driven, and a team player capable of working independently.
