A building engineer oversees the maintenance, repair, operation, and optimization of a building's systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural components, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulations. Key duties involve inspecting systems, performing preventive and emergency maintenance, managing vendors and contractors, monitoring energy usage, and maintaining detailed records of system performance and repairs.

Responsibilities
  • System Maintenance & Repair : Conduct routine inspections and perform necessary maintenance and repairs on building systems such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Preventive Maintenance : Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to proactively identify and resolve potential issues, ensuring optimal system performance and reducing downtime.
  • Emergency Response : Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations to ensure the continuous and safe operation of the facility.
  • Compliance & Safety : Ensure all building operations and maintenance activities comply with safety standards, building codes, and relevant regulations.
  • Coordinate with and manage external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and repair services.
  • Monitor building energy consumption and implement strategies to improve energy efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Record Keeping : Maintain detailed and accurate records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment performance for reporting and future reference.
  • Troubleshooting & Optimization : Diagnose and resolve issues with building systems, and implement solutions to optimize their performance and efficiency.
