Sales: Help customers find specific items, recommend products, process sales at the point-of-sale (POS) system, and handle returns and exchanges.
Store maintenance: Keep the sales floor clean and organized, restock shelves with new inventory, and help create displays.
Inventory management: Assist with checking and maintaining inventory levels and receiving new stock.
Teamwork and goals: Collaborate with other team members to meet sales targets and stay informed about promotions and special offers.
Key skills and qualifications
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
Product knowledge and the ability to learn about new items.
Basic math and computing skills.
Time management and organizational skills.
A high school diploma or equivalent is often required, with some employers preferring degrees for specialized roles.
