Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Project Manager with strong experience in managing underground and Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) telecom projects. The ideal candidate will oversee the end-to-end deployment of fiber and telecom infrastructure, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. The role requires deep understanding of underground construction techniques, HDD processes, permitting, and utility coordination.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage underground and HDD telecom infrastructure projects from planning to completion.

Coordinate closely with engineering teams, field crews, subcontractors, utility providers, and permitting authorities.

Oversee the execution of trenching, HDD boring, duct/cable installation, and restoration activities.

Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and risk management plans.

Ensure compliance with telecom standards, local regulations, and safety protocols.

Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to design specifications.

Facilitate stakeholder communication, resolve field issues, and manage change orders.

Track project milestones, prepare reports, and present updates to internal and external stakeholders.

Manage procurement of materials and ensure timely delivery to job sites.

Maintain proper documentation including permits, as-builts, daily reports, and close-out packages.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, or related field (preferred).

5+ years of experience in telecom infrastructure projects, including 3+ years managing underground and/or HDD construction.

Solid understanding of HDD methods, utility avoidance, duct banks, and fiber installation.

Experience with local permitting processes and working in public ROWs.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and team leadership skills.

Familiar with telecom network standards (fiber, coax, small cell, etc.).

Proficient with project management tools (MS Project, Excel, GIS tools, etc.).

PMP certification or similar (preferred).

Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.

Preferred Experience:
Working with telecom carriers, ISPs, or infrastructure vendors.

Projects involving dense urban builds, microtrenching, or multi-utility coordination.

Familiarity with permit tracking systems and GIS mapping platforms.
