About the Role:
The General Ledger Specialist is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records to support the monthly closing process. This includes preparing journal entries, monthly schedules, quarterly reports, and assisting in budgeting and forecasting activities. The role also involves the preparation of monthly reports for process owners and controller packages to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:
● Prepare and post monthly journal entries to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
● Perform general ledger (GL) functions including reconciliations, variance analysis, and adjustments.
● Prepare monthly and quarterly schedules, financial reports, and supporting documentation for assigned entities.
● Assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate financial data and analysis.
● Compile and submit the monthly controller package and other relevant reporting schedules.
● Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting timelines.
● Support internal and external audit requirements by preparing requested schedules and documentation.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the shared service environment to ensure data integrity and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:
● Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or Postgraduate Diploma in Finance, Accountancy, Business Administration, or related fields.
● At least 2 years of experience in General Ledger or related accounting functions.
● Experience in a Global Finance Shared Service Center is a strong advantage.
● Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) preferred.
● Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
● Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
● Good communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
● Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a team setting.
