Position Summary:

The Sr. Instructional Designer will build scalable learning experiences that develop teams across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will be creative and tech savvy with experience working across multiple instructional delivery modalities with expert level digital design skills. The Sr. Instructional Designer will create and continuously improve learning experiences using an array of approaches that engage learners and drive high-impact learning.

You will be responsible for designing high-quality training content in multiple formats such as interactive eLearning, videos, instructor-led content, virtual classroom design, tool kits, job aids, infographics, study guides and simulations. The role requires an individual who can innovate, move quickly, and not be constrained by how things have been done before. The role also requires deep collaboration with SMEs including senior-level leaders across multiple disciplines/functional roles.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working on multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. The candidate should be an adult learning expert who is creative, analytical, and customer-focused with solid writing skills.

Responsibilities:

Engage/collaborate with appropriate stakeholders and SMEs needed to identify business needs, performance goals and gaps and conduct content analysisResearch/analyze data needed to identify/confirm business issues (e.g., quality data, production data)Conduct task analysis research to identify the specific knowledge, skills, behaviors needed to achieve desired performance levels (e.g., focus groups, observation)Develop learning objectives based on appropriate analyses (e.g., business analysis, task analysis, audience analysis)Engage/collaborate with appropriate stakeholders and SMEs to determine appropriate training content (e.g., products, processes, tools, skills needed)Develop project plans for design/development of identified solutions (e.g., in-scope/out-of scope elements, timeframes, resources, roles/responsibilities, priorities, cost estimates, feasibility analyses, risks/assumptions)Apply principles of adult learning and training best practices to create effective and innovative training design solutionsDevelop appropriate learning activities based on training designs and learning objectivesWrite scripts/talking points for learning activities (e.g., trainer, audio, video, case studies)Write supporting materials for learning activities (e.g., agendas, schedules, quick reference guides, handouts, job aids, trainer/learner guides, audio/visual aids)Leverage/modify existing training solutions to meet current needs (e.g., updates, revisions, re-purposing for new audiences)Conduct Train-the-Trainer sessions to prepare trainers for delivery of training solutions and ensure/validate trainer readinessConduct training pilots to identify specific issues that needed to be addressed prior to delivery (e.g., timing, media, content gaps, audience engagement, assessment issues, training guides/materials)Obtain stakeholder and SME approval/sign-off of training pilot outcomes and next stepsEnsure that post-training evaluation processes are properly implemented (e.g., activate system tools, conduct focus group/interviews, distribute surveys)Monitor and analyze training metrics/data/trends, and identify areas needing attention to enhance learning effectivenessCollaborate with trainers to identify strengths and areas for improvement in training solutions, and appropriate steps to take to improve training effectiveness (e.g., content, activities, materials, delivery methods) Requirements: 7+ years of experience in instructional, digital design and learning content developmentHands-on experience of 4+ years with online learning including tools such as Captivate, Articulate Storyline, Lectora, SnagIT, and othersHands-on experience of making videos using any of these tools - Camtasia, VideoScribe, Powtoon, etc.Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel and PowerPointAwareness of LMS and LCMS standardsProven experience with designing and developing online learning solutions, both synchronous and asynchronousGood knowledge of basic ID principles such as ADDIE, Bloom's taxonomy, Adult Learning Principles, Gagne's 9 events etc.Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving and fact-based decision-making abilitiesAbility to design curriculumAbility to design or develop serious games (game-based quizzes)Awareness of gamification frameworks
