Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Facade Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and detailing building facades to ensure structural integrity, energy efficiency, and aesthetic appeal. This role requires proficiency in engineering principles, drafting software, and a keen eye for detail. Collaboration with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders will be essential to delivering high-quality facade solutions that meet project requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Development: Facade engineers collaborate with architects and other stakeholders to develop the conceptual and technical design of building facades. This involves considering factors such as aesthetics, performance, sustainability, and structural integrityMaterial Selection: They research and select appropriate materials for the facade based on factors like durability, energy efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and architectural vision. This may include glass, metal, stone, concrete, and various composite materialsStructural Analysis: Facade engineers conduct structural analysis and simulations to ensure that the facade can withstand loads such as wind, snow, and seismic forces Performance Testing: They oversee the testing of facade components and systems to evaluate their performance in terms of weather resistance, thermal insulation, sound insulation, fire resistance, and sustainability. This may involve laboratory testing as well as on-site mock-upsCode Compliance: Facade engineers ensure that the design and construction of building facades comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and standards. They stay updated on local building codes and industry guidelines.Coordination: They coordinate with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and other project team members to integrate the facade design with the overall building design and construction schedule. This includes resolving conflicts and ensuring smooth communication among stakeholders.Value Engineering: Facade engineers may engage in value engineering to optimize the facade design in terms of cost, performance, and aesthetics without compromising quality or safety.Quality Assurance: They perform inspections and quality assurance checks at various stages of construction to identify and address any issues or deviations from the design.Maintenance and Retrofitting: Facade engineers may be involved in the assessment, maintenance, and retrofitting of existing building facades to improve performance, durability, and energy efficiency over time. Key Performance Indicators:Design Accuracy: Measure the accuracy and completeness of the facade engineer's design solutions compared to the project requirements and specifications.Technical Proficiency: Assess the engineer's proficiency in using relevant software tools for structural analysis, modeling, and drafting, as well as their understanding of facade materials and systemsCode Compliance Rate: Track the rate at which the engineer's designs comply with building codes, regulations, and standards relevant to facade constructionProject Timelines: Evaluate the engineer's ability to meet project deadlines for deliverables such as design proposals, technical drawings, and construction documentationCost Control: Monitor the engineer's ability to develop cost-effective facade solutions while meeting project requirements and quality standardsClient Satisfaction: Gather feedback from clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to assess satisfaction with the engineer's communication, responsiveness, problem-solving, and overall performanceConstruction Quality: Measure the quality of facade installations based on factors such as adherence to design specifications, workmanship, and absence of defects or reworkSafety Performance: Track safety incidents related to facade construction activities and assess the engineer's adherence to safety protocols and regulationsInnovation and Sustainability: Evaluate the engineer's contribution to innovative and sustainable facade design solutions, including energy efficiency, material selection, and environmental impactProfessional Development: Assess the engineer's participation in professional development activities such as training, certifications, conferences, and industry networking Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering Proven experience 5 years or more in facade engineering Has experience handling Australian ClientsHas a strong portfolio showcasing previous facade engineering projects, design solutions, technical drawings, and contributions to successful building projects Proficiency in relevant software tools is essential for facade engineers to perform tasks such as structural analysis, building modeling, drafting, and project management. Commonly used software includes AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, SAP2000, ETABS, ANSYS, and computational design toolsExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailEffective communication and teamwork abilitiesProfessional licensure or certification is a plus

Candidates must have their own equipment.
A time tracker tool will be used, as this is a REMOTE work setup.
