FAÇADE QA/QC CHECKER - Engineering Department

Employment Status: Project-Based (duration is co-terminus with the project)

Official work schedule is from Monday to Saturday (9AM to 6PM).

Must have an experience in Facade. 

REPORTS TO: Project Manager, Façade Senior Designers and Façade Senior Fabrication Detailers

LIAISE WITH: Project Manager, Façade Senior and Junior Designers, Façade Senior Fabrication Designer, Façade Senior and Junior Structural Engineers, Other Façade Draftsmen and Fabrication Detailers

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Façade QA/QC is responsible in ensuring and maintaining the correctness and consistency of all façade shop drawings, fabrication drawings and material take-offs prior to formal submission.

The Facade Shop and Fabrication Drawings QA/QC shall assist in drafting works when necessary and as required by the Project Manager and Senior Shop and Fabrication Designers.

The position is based in the Manila office.

Skills and Qualifications:

A. General

a. Must have the ability to understand the façade system designed and developed by the Façade Designers.

b. Must have full knowledge of the job specifications requirements as basis for the material checking and verification.

c. Must be meticulous in investigating all drawing documents to provide pertinent comments to attain the consistency of the shop and fabrication drawings and material take-offs.

d. Must have the ability to understand drawings such as plans, sections, elevations, detail projections and spot details.

e. Must have full knowledge of the drafting requirements set for the project.

f. Must have good communications skills.

I. Specific Duties and Responsibilities

1. To provide clear marked-up comments for revisions.

2. Is responsible to electronically file in the appropriate folder in the SCSI filing system all marked-up comments provided.

3. To interact and coordinate with other team members to achieve correctness of the revised documents prior to formal submission.

4. Must be able to read 2D and 3D drawings for his investigation and checking.

5. When necessary, under supervision by his/her superiors, must be able to provide drafting works for external façade shop and fabrication drawings and other tasks required by his/her superiors.

6. When necessary, under supervision by his/her superiors, must be able project details to generate partial plans, developed and true elevations and partial sections.

7. When necessary, under supervision by his/her superiors, must be able to tag the façade details correctly onto plans, developed and true elevations and sections.

8. When necessary and as advised by his/her superiors, must be willing to work extended hours to complete the works.

II. Skills and Specifications:

1. Can interpret shop and fabrication facade drawings.

2. Can do advanced drafting works.

3. Has advanced knowledge in AutoCad 2D drawings, 3D modeling and MS Office applications.

4. Has good quality of work.

5. Can handle given tasks, as required by his/her superior, under pressure with minimal supervision.

6. Has good communication skills

III. Education and Experience:

1. At least 4 to 5 years of experience in the curtain wall industry.

2. Graduate in BS Engineering or Architecture degree.
