GENERAL:

 

The Façade Quantity Surveyor (QS) Engineer is not responsible for the façade system design. The Façade Quantity Surveyor (QS) Engineer is responsible in generating and submitting a complete and correct set of MTOs (Material Take-Offs) that are based on “Approved” or stamped “For Construction” shop drawings and structural calculations.

 

The Façade Quantity Surveyor (QS) Engineer shall assist in drafting works when necessary and as required by the Project Manager and Senior Shop and Fabrication Designers, especially when these works are necessary to complete his/her MTO submissions.

 

The position is based in the Manila office. 

 

Qualifications:

General

Must have the ability to understand the façade system designed and developed by the Façade Designers.Must have full knowledge of the job specifications requirements as basis for generating complete material take-off (MTO) submissions.Must be knowledgeable with all façade materials and components.Must have the ability to understand drawings such as plans, sections, elevations, detail projections and spot details.Must have the ability to understand fabrication, assembly and installation methodologies of unitized curtain wall, window wall and cladding/cassette systems.Must have full knowledge of the MTO requirements and guidelines for the project, as set out by the Client.Must be able to strictly adhere and implement the MTO guidelines, procedures and template for the project.Must have good inter-personal communications skills.

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

To provide clear and easy-to-understand MTO submissions that strictly adhere to the Client’s requirements and standards.Is responsible to provide complete MTO submissions within the design schedule, as agreed with the Client.Must be able to read and understand 2D and 3D drawings for his/her study and reference.To interact and coordinate with other teams (project management, design, structural, fabrication detailing, QAQC, etc.) to achieve correctness and completeness of the generated MTO submissions.When necessary, under the direction of the Project Manager and/or Senior Designers, must be able to provide drafting works for items falling within the scope of his/her submissions. Examples: floor mappings with material tags, plan and section details derived from approved shop drawings, fabrication drawings (when necessary to complete the MTO submission), etc.When necessary, under the direction of the Project Manager and/or Senior Designers, must be able project details to generate partial plans, developed and true elevations and partial sections.When necessary, under the direction of the Project Manager and/or Senior Designers, must be able to tag the façade details correctly onto plans, developed and true elevations and sections.To interact and closely coordinate with the QAQC checker/s to facilitate a high-quality QAQC checking of all MTO submissions, prior to submission.When necessary and as advised by the Project Manager, must be willing to work extended hours to complete the works.

 

Skills and Specifications:

Can interpret shop (2D and 3D) and fabrication facade drawings.Can do intermediate-level (2D) drafting works, when necessary.Can understand and correlate structural calculations reports against the shop and fabrication drawings.Can understand and correlate thermal simulation reports against the shop and fabrication drawings.Has intermediate to advanced knowledge in AutoCad 2D drawings, 3D modeling and MS Office applications.Has excellent file management skills.Has excellent quality of work. Can handle given tasks, as required by the project, under pressure with minimal supervision.Has good communication skills

 

Education and Experience:

At least 2 to 5 years of experience in the curtain wall industry.Graduate in BS Engineering or Architecture degree.
