Drake's top client – an EdTech company that provides online learning resources for students and teachers is hiring a Tax and Financial Reporting Officer to be part of their collaborative team in Makati City.


Summary:


As a Tax & Financial Reporting Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our tax and financial reporting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, integrity, and transparency in all our financial matters.

This role not only safeguards our financial integrity but also contributes to building and maintaining the trust of our clients, investors, and stakeholders, therefore making way for the continued growth and success of our organization.


Responsibilities:

Taxation:

  • Checking our external auditor's tax computation and reconciliation against books.
  • Monitoring and checking for income tax deductibility.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate recording of tax movements in Xero.
  • Preparing tax schedules.
  • Encoding input VAT listings to maintain accurate financial records in Xero.

Financial Reporting:

  • Reconciling & Monitoring Cash Advances.
  • Issuing Clearance for Resigned Employees.
  • Preparing Related Party Invoices.
  • Submitting Financial Statement Schedules.
  • Preparing Month-End Amortization and Depreciation Schedules.
  • Recording Day-to-Day Financial Transactions through Bookkeeping.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • With 3 years of work experience as an internal Tax and/or Financial Accountant or any similar capacity
  • Proven bookkeeping and financial reporting experience in an internal finance and accounting setup
  • Knowledgeable in taxation and BIR processes
  • Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • Excellent communication, research, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Keen to details with high level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
  • Ability to build relationships with clients and internal departments.
  • Working experience in using Xero is preferred but not required.
