As an Application Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining.

and optimizing our IT applications. You will be responsible for handling day-to-day operations,

managing tickets, and overseeing procurement processes related to IT applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business as Usual (BAU):

  • Ensure the continuous operation and availability of business applications.
  • Monitor the performance and stability of applications, promptly identifying and resolving issues.
  • Implement routine maintenance tasks, updates, and configurations to enhance application performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless application integration into daily business processes.

Ticket Management:

  • Receive, prioritize, and resolve user-reported issues, incidents, and service requests related to IT applications.
  • Track and manage tickets using a ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution and communication with end-users.
  • Identify recurring issues and work on root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.
  • Provide clear and concise documentation for issue resolution and application support procedures.

Procurement for IT Applications:

  • Collaborate with relevant departments to identify application needs and requirements.
  • Participate in the selection, evaluation, and procurement of IT applications and software.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiation, renewal, and performance evaluation.
  • Ensure proper licensing, compliance, and budget control for IT applications.

User Training and Support:

  • Provide training and support to end-users, ensuring they can effectively utilize IT applications.
  • Create and maintain user guides and documentation to facilitate self-help and onboarding.
  • Address user queries and offer technical assistance to enhance application usability.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Generate reports on application performance, user satisfaction, and ticket resolution metrics.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and recommend improvements for IT application usage.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to implement enhancements and updates based on data-driven insights.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in application support and maintenance, preferably in an IT environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in using ticketing systems and related software.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and vendor management.
