The Assistant Port Captain supports the Port Captain in managing the safe and economical cargo operation, vessel's cargo stability and navigation. The incumbent is responsible for monitoring the compliance of all vessels for the safe cargo operation, vessel stability, safe port entry and safe navigation including passage planning, and ensuring that the Company SMS is followed. He/She will check and verify all assigned checklists submitted in SERTICA.

Job Responsibilities:

Adhere to safety and efficiency compliance of all vessel in the port

  • Ensure and monitor all vessels that are in compliance with the company SMS procedure for cargo operation and navigation.
  • Assist Port Captain to review and monitor ship statutory certificates, class certificate, memorandum circular, and documents regulation to ensure that it is valid and updated at all times.
  • Conduct initial investigation of the ship reports on accident and hazardous occurrence on ( Grounding, Touch Bottom, Pier/Hull damages, Collision, Fire, Cargo/Stevedore damages, Flooding, Anchor loss and other matters that will involve the ship).
  • Conduct regular on-board inspection concerning navigational equipment and all operational and cargo lashing materials.
  • Conduct (ISPS) International ship and port facility security inspection and audit as instructed.
  • Establish and attend vessel safety drill and security exercise schedule.
  • Collaboration with various departments to emphasize the intention of the company. .
  • Monitor the on time submission (GM) stability calculation and stowage plan nationwide.
  • Conduct internal/ in-house training with vessel crew and officers.
  • Performing other duties, which may be assigned by the superiors.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Marine Transportation.
  • Candidates must have a Master Mariner license issued by MARINA.
  • At least 5 years experience as Chief officer and Master combined in domestic or international trade.
  • Experience in Ship management or any maritime related jobs.
  • In-depth understanding of international and local maritime regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
