Production Planning and Inventory Control

Responsible for overseeing the production planning, scheduling, and inventory management processes to ensure efficient and effective operations. This role involves coordinating with various departments, analyzing demand forecasts, optimizing production schedules, managing inventory levels, and implementing strategies to minimize waste and maximize productivity. PPIC Jr Manager will be reporting to Supply Chain/Logistics manager and will work closely with Warehouse and Procurement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating production plans and schedules based on demand forecasts, capacity, and inventory levels.
  • Coordinating with production and supply chain to ensure sufficient inventory of materials with timely and efficient manufacturing and delivery of products.
  • Monitoring, analyzing, and managing inventory levels, identifying opportunities for optimization and cost reduction.
  • Implementing inventory control measures to minimize stockouts, overstock and obsolescence and inventory carrying cost as per target by management. Collaborating with sales, marketing, and production teams to align plans with customer demand, sales targets, and production schedules.
  • Utilizing inventory management software and tools to track inventory levels, plan replenishment, and maintain accurate records.
  • Establishing, maintaining, and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure production planning and inventory control performance.
  • Leading a team of planners, providing guidance, training, and support to optimize their performance.
  • Leading Demand & Operations Planning (D&OP) meetings to organize production schedules based on sales forecasts and identify/flag potential risks to Sales.
  • Coordinating with internal departments regarding production goals, timelines, and lead times.
  • Determining required materials, generating purchase requisitions (PR), and overseeing the supply and delivery of materials and finished products.
  • Managing inventory issues, schedule changes, and cancellations.
  • Preparing performance, forecast accuracy, and inventory dashboards.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of Bachelor's degree in business, commerce, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field.
  • With at least 5 years of experience in material planning, inventory management or a related position.
  • Knowledgeable of manufacturing processes with strong understanding of production planning, inventory management, and supply chain principles.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management systems and MS software esp. Excel - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Leadership and team management experience is a plus
