Position Overview: The Security Manager for a construction setting is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of personnel, assets, and information on-site. They oversee all security operations, develop and implement security policies and procedures, and coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to mitigate risks and maintain a secure environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Security Planning and Implementation:

Develop comprehensive security plans tailored to the unique requirements of construction sites, considering factors such as site layout, project phase, and potential threats.Implement security measures in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements, including access control, perimeter security, and surveillance systems.Risk Assessment and Management:Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential security vulnerabilities and threats.Develop strategies to mitigate identified risks, including the deployment of security personnel, equipment, and technology.Personnel Management:Recruit, train, and supervise security personnel, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to fulfill their duties effectively.Schedule security staff to provide comprehensive coverage of the construction site, including during off-hours and weekends.Emergency Response and Crisis Management:Develop and implement emergency response plans to address incidents such as theft, vandalism, accidents, and natural disasters.Coordinate with relevant authorities, emergency services, and project stakeholders to ensure a prompt and effective response to emergencies.Security Compliance:Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to security and ensure compliance within the construction setting.Conduct periodic audits and inspections to assess compliance with security policies and procedures, addressing any non-compliance issues promptly.Communication and Collaboration:Foster positive working relationships with internal teams, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to promote a culture of security awareness and cooperation.Serve as the primary point of contact for security-related inquiries, issues, and incidents, providing timely and accurate information as needed.Qualifications and Skills:Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, security management, or a related field (preferred).Proven experience in security management, with specific experience in construction or industrial settings highly desirable.Strong knowledge of security principles, practices, and technologies, including access control systems, CCTV surveillance, and intrusion detection.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.Sound judgment and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to assess complex situations and implement appropriate security measures.Certification in relevant security disciplines (e.g., Certified Protection Professional, Certified Security Manager) may be advantageous.Working Conditions:

The Security Manager will primarily work on-site at the construction location, which may involve exposure to outdoor elements and potentially hazardous conditions. The role may require willingness to relocate and travel and flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to ensure comprehensive security coverage.
