Retail Assistants (Retail & Consumer Products)

Responsible for the daily operations and the financial performance of assigned counter, with the objective of attaining sales and profitability.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

A. DEPARTMENT/SUB-DEPARTMENT SALES

1. Monitors and reviews sales performance to determine if targets are met and makes recommendations to address shortfall in sales.

B. PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

1. Allocates work schedules and makes adjustments for unexpected absences and other disruptions.

2. Maintains personnel quality by enforcing company and store standards.

3. Provides leadership, motivation and constructive performance reviews to develop an effective, high performing sales team.

4. Creates a positive work environment that results in retention and turnover reduction.

C. CUSTOMER SERVICE

1. Responds to customer inquiries; handles and resolves escalated customer issues.

2. Promotes and monitors the distinct quality of Rustan's merchandise and service.

D. MERCHANDISE MANAGEMENT

1. Acts as knowledge expert on merchandise facts; coaches associates to develop their product knowledge.

2. Communicates and explains promotional mechanics to ensure thorough understanding, compliance and effective implementation.

E. INVENTORY MANAGEMENT

1. Checks inventory levels to ensure adequate and timely supply; monitors and rotates slow-moving stock to ensure faster turnover.

2. Identifies and communicates best sellers, key items; recommends alternatives for out-of-stock merchandise.

F. AREA MANAGEMENT

1. Carries out department/sub-department visits, clearing to secure all assets.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

College degree, preferably in Business Administration, Business Management

EXPERIENCE

At least 2 years experience in sales with 1 year in a supervisory position
